Prime Fifteen Professional Studio Suites Business Concept:

Prime Fifteen’s vision began with the complete restoration and renovation of one of the most historic yet neglected buildings in the heart of the Downtown Scottsbluff Creative Art District. Dating back to 1918, the construction and grand opening were delayed due to the Spanish Flu. Ironically similar to our recent pandemic, construction crews and workers were following protocols such as quarantine, masks, and social distancing until public restrictions were lifted in December of 1918.

This truly was the beginning of one of the biggest population booms in Scottsbluff history as the completion coincided with the grand opening of the Historic Lincoln Hotel at the intersection of 15th and Broadway.

Lincoln Hotel History
After construction of the first of 6 Opulent Hotels in Nebraska, The Nebraska Hotel Company selected Scottsbluff as one of the key holding communities to house their premier hotel brand. Planning for the hotel began on Feb. 7, 1917, after the company approached the Scottsbluff Commercial Club with the idea. In March 1918, the concrete skeleton was completed. According to the National Register of Historic Places application for the hotel in August 1918, “vandals wedged wooden blocks into the outlet pipes for a large water tank on the roof, causing minor interior damage but not delaying the project appreciably.”
Construction concluded in October. Six weeks later, with the Lincoln essentially complete, the Commercial Club began planning a New Year’s Eve extravaganza to celebrate the hotel’s opening and the lifting of the influenza quarantine, according to the application.
The hotel saw its grand opening on Dec. 31, 1918, surrounded by fanfare. The 80 room, fireproof luxury hotel was considered a very big deal in its original glory which also had featured its own beauty shop for women and a cigar store for men.
